Concept
The international 2-year master program is offered to civil engineers pursuing a specialization in structural engineering in academic cooperation between the HTWK Leipzig and several partner universities.
The courses of the 1st and the 2nd semester are taught at the respective partner university. The study results are transferred to the SEM curriculum corresponding the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).
The 3rd semester (courses) and the 4th semester (master thesis) are spent at the HTWK Leipzig. The language of instruction and conversation is English. The academic degree Master of Science (M.Sc.) is granted by the HTWK Leipzig after the successful completion of the studies.
Requirements
The SEM program is based on cooperation agreements between the HTWK Leipzig and individual partner universities. Thus, an optimal preparation of interested students is possible.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering. To ensure an appropriate command of English, applicants must pass an English test, e.g. TOEFL or IELTS.
Expenses
The participation in the SEM program is subject to charges:
1. The advance payment of the living expenses, which is part of the German visa regulations for non-EU university applicants. During the study stay the moneys are used for covering the individual costs of daily life as well as the costs of accommodation, insurances, and other charges.
2. The service fee guarantees the supervision of the students at HTWK Leipzig in all university and administrative matters:
